Towards the constitution of a multidisciplinary Research Centre for Heritage at the UNamur?

Sep 12, 2023 from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM TBC,
Supported by our Vice-Rector for Research and co-organised by the PaTHs and NISM institutes, this meeting aims to create synergies and encourage exchanges between actors from the 'human sciences' on the one hand, and the 'exact sciences' on the other. We are indeed convinced that the techniques of material characterisation - in the broadest sense - available at UNamur can contribute to renewing the questions in History, Art History and Archaeology.

Workshop | Parchment-making

Sep 07, 2020 09:00 AM to Sep 11, 2020 08:00 AM
Following the workshop on the Physics of Parchment organized at the University of Namur (2019), numerous participants had expressed their interest in carrying on their multidisciplinary interactions about the historical fabrication of parchments and, in particular, about ways of recognizing which animal skins were used. This wish came true with the parchment-making workshop, which took place at the Gîte of Haugimont (UNamur, Belgium) from 7 to 11 September 2020, in the framework of the Pergamenum21 project, and in collaboration with the Beasts To Craft (B2C) project.
